Teacher Assistant Job Description:

Be a vital part of the Summer S.T.E.A.M. eXperience at CODE313 as a teacher assistant! Join our vibrant community where scholars eagerly participate in diverse activities such Technology, Science, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). As an assistant, you'll support teachers in implementing engaging lesson plans, assisting with materials, and ensuring a safe environment for scholars to explore, create, and learn. Your positive interaction with campers, staff, and parents will contribute to a nurturing atmosphere where each child's growth and development is celebrated.


Site Lead Job Description:

Lead the way as a Summer S.T.E.A.M. eXperience site lead at CODE313! Take charge of overseeing all activities within the tech education area, managing supplies, and maintaining a safe environment for scholars to explore, create, and learn. You'll play a pivotal role in setting the tone for each day, ensuring cheerful gatherings and fostering an atmosphere of engagement and curiosity. Your leadership skills will shine as you coordinate with teachers and staff, seeking to provide a seamless experience for campers and ensuring that safety and engagement remain paramount throughout the camp.


Duties:

  • Interact with families and scholars in a positive and nurturing manner.
  • Create and execute fun and engaging lesson plans in S.T.E.A.M. subjects.
  • Develop materials and resources for specific activities, seeking approval from the camp director.
  • Oversee all assigned activities and maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Ensure the safety and engagement of all campers during tech education activities.
  • Provide enriching and creative growth experiences within the camp's STEM program.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching or leading activities, preferably in a STEAM-related field.
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to relate to campers, staff, and parents.
  • Currently attending or graduated from college, preferably with a focus on education or STEM.
  • Preferred: Teacher certification in the State of Michigan.


Timeframe:

July 8, 2024 to August 9, 2024, must be able to work the entire length of camp. Training starts in June, TBD.
