Each hands-on project lets scholars design and fabricate 3D objects using computer-aided design (CAD) software alongside 3D printers. Scholars will experience advantages and limitations during the design process of each 3D printing concept in terms of its capabilities, precision, material, and resolution . Scholars will have the opportunity to look into industry cases and use 3D printing technology appropriately while gaining hands-on experience.
This course helps you understand how 3D printing is applied through design, manufacturing, and retailing. Special abilities will be demonstrated of 3D printing such as self-assembly, customization, and printing complex objects.
CODE313 will also provide an overview of design thinking and how you can develop ideas that can be turned into objects. Scholars who complete this course will obtain a rich understanding of the capabilities of 3D printing and new ways to think about object design for this technology.
