The role of a Summer Media Staff is focused on capturing the essence of our programs through multimedia, including photography and videography, and contributing to their creative editing and dissemination. This pivotal role involves ensuring student safety, aiding in camp preparation, actively participating in activities, managing media equipment, and handling administrative tasks, all while documenting and enhancing the visual representation of our endeavors.


About the Role:

As a valued member of the CODE313 Team, the Summer Media Staff will provide supervision, instruction, and ongoing support to program staff, scholars, and volunteers during our summer programs. This role places particular emphasis on capturing the essence of our activities through photography and videography, contributing to their editing, and ensuring their effective dissemination. Additionally, the Media Staff will be responsible for editing images and videos to enhance their impact and appeal. Other duties may include clerical tasks such as organizing media, media entry, and more.


This assignment is approximately 6 weeks and starts June 24, 2024.
Summer programs are scheduled from July 5th to August 9th, with mandatory training commencing on June 24th. All applicants must be available for all training and program dates.


Due to the level of responsibility  for the Media Staff you must be 18+ to apply. All Media Staff will be subject to a background check.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Capturing high-quality photographs and videos to document various activities and events during the summer programs.
  • Managing media equipment, including cameras, tripods, and audio recording devices, to ensure their proper functioning and availability.
  • Editing and enhancing images and videos to create compelling visual content that effectively showcases the experiences and achievements of the program participants.
  • Collaborating with program staff to identify key moments and highlights to capture through multimedia.
  • Organizing and cataloging media files for easy access and retrieval.
  • Assisting in the setup, cleanup, and running of programs onsite while actively engaging in media-related tasks.
