This summer, from TRIO Upward Bound Detroit (UB Detroit) Kimoni McDaniel didn’t just keep busy, he thrived. From hands-on learning to a real-world internship at CODE313,  he leaned into opportunities that are shaping his future in powerful ways.

Why Experiences Like These Matter

As UB Detroit Director Adam Harris puts it, “We believe these internships and job shadowing experiences will help TRIO scholars grow and develop into the professionals they desire to be. The vision moving forward is to create pathways for more opportunities.” And that’s exactly what this summer was all about creating pathways.

Internships that Inspire

One of those pathways led rising senior Kimoni McDaniel straight into an internship with us here at CODE313.  Gary Beaver, CODE313’s eXperience director, couldn’t have been more impressed, stating:
