Learning in Motion:

A High-Impact Tech Experience That Inspired 300 Future Innovators

The CODE313 S.T.E.A.M. SLAM School Tour made one of its biggest and most energetic stops yet at Brownstown Middle School, where we welcomed over 300 scholars for a full day of hands-on tech immersion, innovation, and inspiration. From the moment students entered the gym, the excitement was electric. With VR headsets running, drones taking flight in our simulators, and interactive challenges buzzing around the room, the entire space transformed into an unforgettable tech experience that kept scholars engaged from start to finish.

A Full-School Tech Takeover Like No Other

Our signature S.T.E.A.M. SLAM setup brought Brownstown’s students into the world of emerging technologies through stations designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Each activation showcased a different pathway within STEAM fields, giving students a chance to explore careers, test new skills, and discover passions they didn’t know they had.

Immersive Experiences That Brought Technology to Life

Students rotated through CODE313’s full lineup of hands-on stations, including:

  • Virtual Reality (VR):
Deeply immersive simulations that helped students experience gaming, design, engineering, and interactive storytelling in a whole new dimension.

  • Augmented Reality (AR):
Tools that let scholars explore digital overlays and visual effects, linking creativity with technology in ways they instantly connected with.

  • Drone Flight Simulation:
A crowd favorite, students practiced drone navigation skills in a safe, virtual environment, opening their minds to careers in aviation, robotics, and tech operations.

  • Blaze Pods Reaction Training:
Fast-paced reaction games blended physical movement with high-tech sensors, showing how data and performance analytics work in real time.

  • Box Stacking Engineering Challenge:
An energetic station blending teamwork, problem-solving, physics, and friendly competition and yes, the cheers echoed across the gym.

Every station sparked something different in each student and seeing them fully engaged made the day unforgettable.

A Special Artist Performance to Close Out the Experience

To wrap up the event, scholars were surprised with a live artist performance, bringing together creativity, music, and tech-fueled excitement. It was the perfect ending to a day already filled with energy, exploration, and inspiration. The performance added a cultural and creative layer to the learning experience, showing students that technology and the arts often collide in powerful ways.

A New Wave of Students Excited About Tech Careers

One of the biggest highlights of the day? Hearing students share their excitement about exploring tech fields in the future. Throughout the event, we heard things like:

“I definitely want to work in tech.”
“I can definitely  see myself working in the tech field when i'm older”
“I'm telling my mom to buy me a VR headset when I get home.”

Moments like these prove how important exposure is, especially at the middle school level. When students see tech up close, participate hands-on, and understand how it connects to real careers, their world expands instantly.

Looking Ahead

Huge thank you to Brownstown Middle School for bringing CODE313 in and giving their scholars the chance to explore, create, and discover new possibilities.

Events like this reinforce our mission:
To ensure every student, regardless of background, has access to transformative STEAM learning experiences that spark passion and shape futures. We’re excited to continue our S.T.E.A.M. SLAM tour and inspire the next generation of tech innovators, one school at a time.
