Learning In Motion:

CODE313 x Star Factory S.T.E.A.M. SLAM School Tour x Adams Young Middle School

This week, the CODE313 x Star Factory S.T.E.A.M. SLAM School Tour made an unforgettable stop at Adams Young Middle School, transforming the building into a hub of creativity, innovation, and hands-on exploration. More than 300 students cycled through our full lineup of interactive tech activations and the energy was electric from start to finish.

A Full Immersive Experience in S.T.E.A.M. Innovation

Students engaged with all of our most popular hands-on learning stations, including:

  • Virtual Reality Experiences
Students stepped into immersive worlds that helped them understand how VR is used in careers like aviation, engineering, and design.
  • Augmented Reality Creation Labs
They explored AR tools and learned how digital objects can enhance real-world environments—one of our most exciting gateways into future tech pathways.
  • Drone Flight & Simulation
Scholars got hands-on time flying drones and testing their skills in simulation challenges that mirror real-world drone operations.
  • Interactive Blaze Pods + Reaction Challenges
A student favorite! These stations blended physical activity with cognitive skill-building, proving that learning can be fast-paced and fun.
  • Box Stacking Competition
A blend of engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving, students competed to build the tallest and most stable structures.

To make the day even more unforgettable, a local Detroit artist joined the tour, delivering a dynamic live performance that tied creativity and technology together. The energy in the gym was unmatched students were dancing, cheering, and fully immersed in the moment.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

Throughout the day, students stopped our team with questions like:

  • “How can I do this at home?”
  • “Where can I learn more about VR and game creation?”
  • “How do I get into careers like this?”

Moments like these are exactly why the S.T.E.A.M. SLAM Tour exists. Our goal is to spark imagination, empower students with new possibilities, and show them that tech careers are not out of reach they’re right at their fingertips.

The Adams Young scholars left with newfound confidence, inspiration, and excitement to keep exploring STEAM education beyond the classroom.

We’re already looking forward to our next stop!
