Community Advisory Board Member
Richard Walker is the Senior Program Manager for Industry Awareness at the SEMI Foundation, the workforce development arm of SEMI, a global trade association representing over 3,000 semiconductor companies. In this role, Richard develops engaging programs and fosters strategic partnerships to inspire interest in semiconductor careers and expand the industry's talent pipeline.
Richard brings a dynamic professional background to the board. As a tech entrepreneur, he co-founded a sports science company that utilized wearable sensor data analysis for professional and collegiate sports teams.
At Detroit PBS, Richard led workforce development initiatives, including the creation of a show spotlighting women in STEM careers. Earlier in his career, he practiced corporate and intellectual property law and gained extensive marketing and advertising experience at both large and boutique ad agencies.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Richard has made Metro Detroit his home for the past 25 years. He holds a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law, an MBA from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
