Charles Hicks

Charles is a product of Southfield Public Schools where he attended Southfield High School. He attended The University of Michigan and graduated in 1993 Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Walsh College Masters of Science in Business Information Technology.

Charles has 30 years of industry experience in Information Technology, Purchasing, and Project Management. He is charged with fostering innovation and process improvement. Charles has served as Director of Purchasing for Wayne County managing $1.5 Billion Dollars of spend annually. He also served as Director Application Development and Production Support. He currently implements corporate initiatives for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

Charles is an elected official in the City of Southfield serving as President of the Southfield Board of Education. As an alum and parent of children in the district Charles felt compelled to be hands on in the district that helped establish his educational foundation. The Southfield School system has 6000+ students and an annual budget of $85M.

A Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. serving as the Vice President of the Detroit Alumni Chapter.
