Community Advisory Board Member

Carrie J. Clark wears multiple hats and is adept at balancing all of them through her astute leadership skills with a community service focus. Carrie currently serves as the System Director for IT at the Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit. It is a role that incorporates several departments:  Project Management Office (PMO), IT Asset/Software Management, IT Service Management Applications and IT Business Relationship Management.  It is a position she earned by rising through the ranks and merging her knowledge of project management with technology.   


A Detroit-area native, Carrie holds BA and MSA degrees, and is working on her second Master’s degree in Health Administration.   She also maintains multiple certifications including PMP, SCRUM Master, ITIL and CPM. In addition, since 1995 Carrie has been an adjunct professor at Detroit area universities teaching in the areas of information technology, quality management and project management. She has received numerous professional awards including the Eastern Michigan University Distinguished Alumni Award, the DRIVEN award, the PMO of the Year finalist award, Michigan Chronicle Woman of Excellence, Black Alumni Eastern Elite Award and the premier Career Mastered National Women’s History Leadership in Action Award.  


In addition, Carrie is a proud 37-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® where she has served on the board of directors for the last six years, as the 29th Great Lakes Regional Director and currently is the International Regional Director.  In this role, she guides sorority members in chapters in eleven countries and territories outside of the continental United States.  It is a role that allows her to elevate the awareness of global community needs through the sorority’s program initiatives to address childhood hunger, youth leadership, economic empowerment, environmental concerns, social justice and more.


Carrie also devotes her time to many affiliations and memberships including the Project Management Institute (Great Lakes Chapter), American Heart Association – Go Red Passion Committee, The Great Lakes (MI) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, an Associate of Jack and Jill of America and former board member for the Youth Development Commission (YDC).  Carrie is a member of Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit and is very blessed and thankful to have the support of her beautiful family -- husband, Mark of over 28 years of marriage and two handsome sons (Ian Marc Clark and Noah Stone Clark).  Mark, Ian and Noah are active members
